We’re back! At Reisbrennen, after more than 10 years.
Reisbrennen is one of the biggest Japanese car meets in Europe. For an entire weekend, the Lausitzring is taken over by JDM enthusiasts — and it offers entertainment for every kind of car lover! Quarter-mile races, Time Attack, AvD Drift Championship, Drift Taxi, trader area, and Show & Shine!
The last time we were at the Lausitzring was all the way back in 2013 — just as spectators. Even then, the event was already legendary. That was before the Drift Bastards were even born. Funny enough, we rolled up with Domenik’s 350Z and Renato’s S14 — which now belongs to Sagi. And guess what? Both of those cars are now our full-blown drift beasts.
When the AvD Drift Championship reached out to us this year to join the drift show and give taxi rides, there was no way we could say no. Not even the 800-kilometer trip could stop us from being part of Reisbrennen once again.
When we arrived on Thursday, things kicked off right away. Barely had we unloaded the cars from the trailers when the first drivers’ briefing was already calling.The Night Drift Show is a highlight every single year — and this time was no different. Hundreds of spectators filled the stands. For 15 straight minutes, Domenik and Janick showed the crowd what it means to chase someone’s door with limited power.Our absolute highlight: drift superstar Fredric Aasbø and his A90 Supra. Fredric was invited as a special guest and jumped right in to support the local drifters. It was simply amazing to share the track with a legend like him.
The rest of the weekend was spent with the AvD Drift Championship, Drift Taxis, above-average beer consumption at the afterparty, and plenty of tire-burning action. Reisbrennen showed itself at its absolute best. It’s wild to think that multiple events are happening simultaneously here.From quarter-mile racing to Time Attack, we got to experience almost every kind of motorsport in just a few days. Entertainment on a track this varied is hard to find anywhere else.After our own sessions on the track, we wandered through the different paddocks. We had some great conversations with fellow motorsport enthusiasts, picked up a few tips for our race cars, and got a behind-the-scenes look at Reisbrennen.
