The Allrounder
Janick Sieber
Always fascinated by drifting, drag racing, off-road, motocross, and anything loud and fast. There is hardly a drift championship that the trained truck mechatronics technician has not followed on the Internet.
During the apprenticeship, such a hobby was unthinkable from a financial perspective. A rather long stay in the Swiss military and several job changes did not exactly bring him closer to his dreams. Brother Domenik was already an active DriftBastard at that time, and Janick helped out wherever needed. After several years as a team mechanic and support for the crew, he had finally saved enough to buy a drift-capable car and try it out himself.
After occasionally borrowing his brother's car, Janick plunged into the drift scene in 2017 with his own BMW, competing in his first events together with the Bastards. He quickly got the hang of it and, after a few training events, was eager for something new. In his first year in the German Drift Series at the Hockenheimring, he made it to the top 10 by the end of the championship. In his second year, he was Drift.de Vice champion.
With his 328i and just under 200hp, Janick was surprisingly able to keep up with his competition. The BMW was developed a bit further each year to make optimal use of the 200hp. The paint job on his car was also done by himself, making it a real eye-catcher. Driving a somewhat underpowered drift car shaped his aggressive driving style.
Welding the race cars together is just as enjoyable for Janick as driving and testing them on the racetracks. Night shifts and dirty fingers are simply part of the deal. After changing garages and teaming up with some local ¼-mile drag racers, Janick could finally get a taste of the V8 scene.
In 2022, he actively helped to establish the first online shop to provide the necessary fan support for the team. He designed the shirt designs and stickers himself and contributed a new team livery.
The all-rounder uses his experiences from his professional life to continue pushing the drift team forward and chase the next dreams.
