Malters 2024 hill climb

On Sunday, September 29, the first historic hill climb took place in Malters. Around 300 vehicles from all corners of motorsport history jostled their way through the small Lucerne village to the starting line at the foot of Mount Pilatus. An impressive starting field of formula cars, nostalgic vintage cars, motorcycles and sidecars attracted numerous onlookers. Bright sunshine attracted over 2000 motorsport enthusiasts from all over Switzerland to the event. Thanks to the excellent organization of the OC, everything ran like clockwork. From the arrival and setting up of the paddock in the early morning to the departure on Sunday evening, there were no complications. The experienced field of drivers, together with the track team, ensured that everything ran absolutely smoothly. A true success all along the line, including action NON STOP!

3x 100% use of the Bastards

The DriftBastards showed their best side on Sunday. Drivers Alex, Renato and Michi seized the opportunity of a 10-minute race and started for the team. Each of the three put in a great effort to thrill the spectators. The main road, which stretched from Malters in the direction of Hellbühl, was tackled during three show blocks. The joy of being able to demonstrate their passion to the home crowd and the dynamism of the team were palpable. Thanks to the support of motorsport colleagues Dave Hauser (Klosterrüti Garage), Raphael Amrein and Mike Kronenberg (R&M Carrosserie), the show was great!

As is usual at every drifting event, there were a number of challenges to face this weekend. In the first race, a vacuum hose in the engine compartment of Michael's 180SX came loose on the start straight. With no boost pressure, the Nissan 4-cylinder jumped into emergency mode and Michael barely managed to fight his way up the steep mountain road to the finish. A minor setback, but definitely nothing the team couldn't fix. With routine and technical skill, they managed to fix the problem quickly. As befits the DriftBastards, after a short break to change tires and refuel, they went full throttle again and burned black lines onto the asphalt in the second run.

The team enjoyed the rest of the races to the full. The drivers gave the enthusiastic spectators a show that left no doubt as to why they are part of the DriftBastards. Smoking tires, breathtaking drifts, roaring engines and lots of action! In the afternoon show block, Alex, Renato and Michi fired up the audience once again and turned the day into a real highlight. In the grassy meadows around the track, the enthusiastic spectators celebrated the spectacular driving skills and the atmosphere on the mountain was electrifying. A day that will leave everyone wanting more and will be remembered for a long time to come!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the spectators who visited us on this day. Thanks to you, the atmosphere was unforgettable! Your applause and enthusiasm spur us on and on! It was an honor to drive for you and we are already looking forward to entertaining you again at the next event with the accelerator pedal pressed to the floor.
